Our ClubWe are a private club with a limited membership, comprised of A and B members. A members are 'working members' who maintain the club and all its facilities and B members are 'non-working'. Our mutual goal is to provide a professional marina environment with all the amenities, meanwhile retaining a small club atmosphere. Our boat basin is sheltered and easily accessible from the Hudson River just north of the Tappan Zee Bridge. We offer guest docking for patrons of our outside bar & grill, in addition to our 'First Class' gourmet restaurant, Sunset Cove. Parking is limited, so first come, first served.
Club HistoryFounded in the Spring of 1951, four years before the Tappan Zee Bridge opened, Washington Irving Boat Club had 25 members. The initiation fee was $5.00 and the dues were 0.50cents a month for an eight month season. The Quonset Hut was erected by the construction company building the bridge and it served as their 'site office'. The full history of WIBC and how it was created, is posted on the wall in the large meeting room adjoining the Quonset Hut.
